The NSAF National High School Track and Field Hall of Fame Ceremony will be broadcast live from the New York Athletic Club in New York City on Sunday, March 10 via USATF.TV. The free broadcast will begin approximately at 7:30pm ET.

National High School Track & Field Hall of FameAnnounces Second Class

  • 2019 class includes four members of the historic 1968 U.S. Olympic Team who made the team as high schoolers
  • Inductees highlight athletes and coaches instrumental to the advancement of women’s track & field in the years before Title IX
  • The National High School Track & Field Hall of Fame will induct its second class of athletes, coaches, and contributors on Sunday, March 10, 2018 in New York City

NEW YORK – January 10, 2018 - The National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF), a non-profit organization created to support and promote high school-age track and field, today announced the second class of the National High School Track & Field Hall of Fame.

The 2019 class will be inducted during a gala awards dinner Sunday evening, March 10, 2019, at the New York Athletic Club. The dinner will take place following the New Balance Nationals Indoor Championships at the Armory in New York City. Tickets and tables are available for purchase online at  NationalHighSchoolTrackandFieldHOF.org.

“We’re delighted to build upon our inaugural class with a group of inductees who truly embody excellence in the sport,” said Josh Rowe, Chairman of the NSAF’s Hall of Fame Committee. “From high school members of the iconic 1968 Olympic Team to recognizing some of the athletes and coaches who were the stars and leaders of high school track and field prior to Title IX, these individuals paved the way for generations of athletes who have benefited from their historic achievements.”

The 2019 class joins the inaugural class which included Jesse OwensJim Ryun and other all-time greats like Steve PrefontaineMary Decker Slaney and Allyson Felix. The following is a complete list of the 2019 inductees, including their high school, year of graduation and hometown:

The Hall of Fame selection committee includes twelve of the most knowledgeable track and field historians in the sport today. The Hall honors three categories of inductees:

  • Athletes: Competitors who have demonstrated exemplary athletic performance while in high school. Athletes must have been out of high school for at least 15 years to be eligible for induction.
  • Coaches: Leaders who have created excellence at the program level, achieving extraordinary results year after year.
  • Contributors: Innovators and game changers. These may include administrators or media members who have elevated high school-age track and field through innovative work and tireless dedication.
